A question for Christians (quote, God, believe, versus)

Adrian Gonzalez, being interviewed after the Red Sox lost tonight to end their season, just said that he believes that God has a plan for us and it wasn't in God's plan for the Red Sox to be in the playoffs.

So what do you think? Does God care who makes it to the World Series, or at least the playoffs?

I doubt God cares about baseball,thats just silly.If God decides who is going to win the world series then I guess the game is 'fixed'.

As God is aware of everything I suppose he cares about most everything to some degree. Although I don't think he would takes sides, more like care about the individuals involved. Or something.

Why would he?

I have long since come to translate 'miracle' as 'luck, skill or both, 'Fate' (alias God's plan) as the way it turns out, whichever way it is, and 'God' as nature, shorn of superstitious anthropomorphisms.

God is no more behind that stuff than a fat kid with wings and an archery set is behind our hormone rush when we see something sexy.

Last season, a player on the Buffalo Bills blamed God when he dropped a sure touchdown pass. Apparently, God is an avid sports fan...with definite favorites.

I guess he cares more about whether the Bills beat the spread than whether millions of people die of AIDS.

I'm a Christian, and yes - God does care about this. There's nothing wrong with what Adrian Gonzalez said.

That being said, God also knows that baseball is a game. He's not out there taking sides like it's good versus evil or anything.
