Do any of you believe the Biblical Joseph was in Egypt? (grace, myths)

I would like to know people's reasons why they believe the story of Joseph, Jacob's son, in Egypt was just fabricated.
I've been told over and over that the flood story of Noah's day was fiction and so was wondering if posters here believe the Joseph story rising to power in Egypt in a time of great famine, prior to Israel being in Egypt 400+ years was just made up.
I would encourage you to use Google. It is a helpful tool.[/quote
RESPONSE:
Yes. Let's look a little more closely at what Wikipedia has to say:
Archaeology
"A century of research by archaeologists and Egyptologists has found no evidence which can be directly related to the Exodus captivity and the escape and travels through the wilderness and most archaeologists have abandoned the archaeological investigation of Moses and the Exodus as "a fruitless pursuit"."
I believe the Bible claims there were 800,000 Hebrew soldiers at the time of the Exodus. This would translate into a population of about 2.3 million counting all the men not soldiers, the women, and the children.
According to the Bible the Jews were captives in Egypt for 400 years and they spent 40 years in the desert. And yet they didn't leave any archeological footprint in either place.
What might one reasonably conclude?

I can see how a great revolt of the slaves would be something that a Pharoah wouldn't want recorded...
RESPONSE:
But it would have been. One doesn't lose one fifth to a third of one's population and prevent it being noticed or remembered. Or at least leaving some archeological trace behind.
One has to learn to separate folklore from history.
