What is "vile and disgusting" is subjective. As is whether something that one has subjectively determined to be such is a positive or negative.
That stated...I submit that, to me, a lot of what the Fundies on both sides say to/about the other is very messed up. The nasty insults, mocking, and blatantly obvious loathing each has for the other is a big part of what is wrong with this world.
That someone thinks/believes/acts differently than you, and wants to outwardly note and promote those differing ways is not a basis for insults, mocking, and copping a negative attitude. But for some reason it appears that very few are able to maintain their cool or summon the required character to deal when they encounter the differing beliefs/ways. Too bad.

While the views and opinions of one who has (so far as I can tell) lost all credibility on both sides of the religious debate, doesn't bother me. I am a bit surprised at the depth of my feelings about this guy..and since Badlander seem to have wrapped up the topic, we might as well look at something else that is pretty vile and disgusting.

And as the man said, the buck stops here. He didn't say as my bosses did 'and then gets passed all the way down again' but Pope Frankie doesn't need to. 'Easy Yoke' is is his whole outlook. While Pope Dracula resigned and I strongly suspect because he could not live with the lies and hypocrisy he had to cope with in the whole Pedo cover up, this lad seems to be able to shrug the whole thing off. Something to the effect that a bit of carping about minor matters shouldn't bother True Believers.

I may look up all the dumbest remarks of this hopefully last ever Pope (though that's another prophecy I won't bet on coming true) but I can recall denial of global warming, a claw - back on evolution and I hardly need repeat the apologetics for religious murder. And the latest report is that he made a point of hugging Kim Davis and praising her 'courage' in trying to deny Gay citizens their human rights.

This guy is a plonker. He is the Vatican equivalent of Dubhya Bush. He is on my list of people who should be removed for the good of society. And if he offends me that much, then according to his own views he shouldn't complain at being rubbed out.

And what is most galling is the amount of credit he is getting. So did Dubhya out of 9/11 and resolute action on Afghanistan. And I curl my lip at the exhibition washing of lepers' feet.

This dude is getting a lot of praise because he is right occasionally, like a stopped clock. But not because he is reasoning things out, let alone logically. he is just spouting his own fatheaded opinions, whether or not anyone agrees with him - even in his own church.
