Do you believe that humans and the other great apes descended from a common ancestor? If not, why do we share so much DNA and what mechanism produced the similarities?
Unbelievable. Somehow you can't process what I said so many times. I believe in evolution. Later species evolved from earlier species. How is it possible that you can't process what I said?
If not "errors", how do DNA changes happen? What other "organizing forces" do you mean?
One example is James Shapiro's research showing complex mechanisms cells have for correcting errors in their DNA. So there you have the fact that cells can purposefully modify their DNA, and these DNA changes are the opposite of errors. Just one example. The research is not finished.
Other genetic research has shown that mutation rates can increase in response to environmental stress. There is some randomness in the changes, but the increased rate of mutation is purposeful.
There are many more examples. If only you had not stopped thinking about it after high school biology, you would be more aware.
