Wow, since I have so many many atheist friends...lemme clue you in, my friend BF...
over decades now of observation (and me once being a Charismatic)....my atheist buddies are WAY
more honest in every way compared to my Christian friends....and lemme tell you the things my Christian friends have done have blown my mind....I helped them see their ways.
I didn't get mad at them or anything....I was in too much shock I think.

I would trust phet or TRANS or Trout Dude with anything...a secret, Executor of my Will;...anything.
Their honesty and morality exudes from them.

From an atheistic worldview perspective, for instance, the view is that people/cultures agree upon standards of morality based on biological or socially advantageous reasons, but these reasons are not objective standards, in that they can change depending on the culture or historical context.
Hello Iwas,

That's a big IF you begin with, but even IF true, I don't see why my moral standards are any less objective when in fact I try to "do unto others as I would have them do unto me" free of how religion or God has taught to the contrary. Like how to treat gay people for example...

Time for me to sign off this forum again today. Unfortunate, since I'm sure we're all about to agree and conclude about all this within a comment or two. But I'll see those results perhaps tomorrow when I return.

Until then, thanks again.

I didn't say Christians are good people. They have their failings like everyone else. Only Jesus was Good in every way all the time & was taken to Heaven for His Goodness.

People adore satan. There are countless forums filled with masses who believe Satan is the ultimate good guy. There are countless more forums filled with people who idolise hitler as the ultimate good guy.
So we can say Mickey Mouse was a good person or some other nobody was a good person, or our pet dog is a good dog etc etc, but Only Jesus truly demonstrated real goodness. And if you are an honest person you can see that

I never said that an atheist couldn't be a decent person. You completely misread my post.

Do you understand that I'm not asking about what religion one belongs to that dictates behavior?

What do you believe accounts for that morality?
