Just for my own edification does anyone in here think God is an evil monster?
It has been said that god made man in his own image.
I'd say the traits of god align pretty much parallel to man's traits.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Yes, except we have to consider the form or interpretation that most people who have been visited by God describe. It's not photo possible, so I'm thinking what else might work. To be better prepared next time, if there is a next time. Bit of a problem or Catch-22, because if we're to believe God knows what we're thinking, She knows I'll be asking for evidence next time. Might be why there will be no next time...
You'll have to consider that hamster wheel on your own; from my perspective, it begins (and ends) with a physiological process i.e. your perception (and how you choose to interpret it).
That said, I believe you believe god visited you. ; )

If what you believe about God based on the beliefs of our ancient ancestors is the basis for evaluating God, an evil egomaniacal monster is a reasonable interpretation.

Don't toy with me, thrill. If you believe in a God who would command bashing babies' heads on rocks, stabbing pregnant women with swords, and ordering genocide, I believe that would qualify as an evil God.

I must remind you, Mystic that I don't believe in the pagan mystical god of the Old Testament. All these stories of him are fanciful creations of ancient Hebrew minds. The God I believe in is non-denominational. And I have to also remind you that my definition of an evil God (notice the capital "G") is a God who has the power to stop evils that exist that are so depraved such as you or I could never dream possible, and He does absolutely nothing to stop them. Passive evil, the kind God engages in, to me is just as bad as active evil.
Yes, Bill and Emmet Fox.
To others these instances of Cosmic Consciousness would be
called 'being in a state of psychosis', yes.
And I didn't even describe the best parts from that 1 x...I feel a compulsion to share one thing
that ya can't put the impact of into words, the profundity places one in awe
for quite sometime- that alone
makes you appear nuts or in shock.
I was shown as if given a microscope into the center of atoms
--it was made clear not one solitary thing - not the color red,
not the dust particle in the beam of sunshine from the window
exits if not for 'Him'---the Creator of e-v-e-r-ything.
Oh yeh, I read Emmet Fox Sermon on the Mount.
The spiritual realm lacks a dictionary to describe it.
eyes have not seen nor ears heard...

Ah! In that case no.
My take on it is that if some entity that could be described as God exists then it is totally ethereal and has no power in the physical world whatsoever. By the same token, this God had nothing to do with creation. Therefore this God is not being passively evil in my mind simply because it is powerless. This God (if it exists) may be able to influence us through thought or subconscious interaction.

Ah, okay. You believe God must be able to intervene in our physical lives or He is NOT God. A God who is Spirit and only intervenes spiritually is useless and pointless, right. We do not inhabit the same Reality, thrill. Sorry. I don't decide what God MUST do or be. I accept God as I found Him.
