Although I really enjoy the native flutes and traditional drums, I am glad to see alternative styles of music coming off the reservations. If we can be modern, contemporary, citizens while retaining our roots, we have the best of the best.

The first time I heard Redbone, I thought, man that's great a Native American Rock & Roll Band.... How great is that...

Today is a 1st of May: The Planting Moon,Anisguti.

Family's traditionally prepare the fields and sow them with the stored seeds from last season. Corn, beans, squashes, tomatoes, potatoes, yams and sunflowers are some food planet at this time. A dance traditionally done at this time is the "Corn Dance".

Some very sad news out of Texas. My heart is very heavy over this news and I hope that those responsible for this crime are brought to justice. Whoever did this has no spirit within them.

It makes me want to get all 18th or 19th century on them. I would love to demonstrate the Comanche "Old Ways" to them.
