That thread was just closed a few minutes ago after many, many pages of responses, most of which were made after the OP disappeared. My analysis: Tone begets like tone. The OP's tone was combative and hostile, and it just went from there. One of the most bizarre threads I have encountered in my five and a half years on City-Data.

I loved it when I had a front yard full of it but at the time I didn't know that it was a herbal remedy . . . I just thought it was pretty!

I'm a little surprised with their decisions to cut posts and "punish" posters.
The terms of service on CD include no advertising. Posting a specific brand for a product constitutes advertising; they are not trying to punish, but to enforce their rules.
