Yes. All the cabinets in both bathrooms as well. Even if the remodelers remove them I think I'll keep the doors. I initially thought they were maple, but after looking at the grain more closely I decided it's birch. I have a couple of projects in mind for the wood already.

Perhaps tomorrow. Today was just too chaotic.

Tek, those cabinets could go in the garage...painted first, of course. Just a frugal thought.

There's no room for them and they aren't worth keeping. Every available bit of wall space already has cabinets or shelves. And those look good, but were poorly cared for.

Sorry, no pictures yet. Contractor today was a hoot and ran and us ragged. What a character!

Tomorrow will be much running around so who knows? If I'm as exhausted then as now it will be Saturday. Or not. We're going to a home expo then and with all that walking I'll be munching pain pills like candy.

{Sigh}

I promise pictures. I do!

Default Pictures

Got a break this morning so I took pictures

Overall view. We purchased the rug, sofa, three chairs, and dining room set. All the other tables came with us as did the lamps, etc. We are probably going to keep the furniture (with the exception of the entertainment center and piers) and sell the Stiffel lamps.

After all these years we still like the tables we bought, and the new goes with it nicely.

These are taking some getting used to. They're nice, but we've been sitting in our old ones a long time. They are powered for the tilt.

The area rug tones down all the blue.

Dining set. This almost got sent back. The sales woman told us it was made in the USA when we specifically asked where it was made and it's actually made in Vietnam. Man was I pissed. It was on sale 30% off and they offered another $200 back. Cooler heads prevailed (Mrs. Tek) and we realized that finding anything even close to this nice at this price, in Las Vegas, was going to be impossible. Furniture shopping here is a nightmare. At it's smallest it's 40" square. It has two 20" leafs so it opens to 80" and will seat eight.

I won't lie. I think it's beautiful.

The fabric on her chair and ottoman. This is where she can kick back (it tilts) and do her needlework.

Sofa fabric.

We have been getting remodelers out for quotes (still waiting on them), visited a place that sells cabinets, flooring, etc and got some good ideas, and found a couple of more places to visit. I'm estimating the projects finishing up sometime in June, if we're lucky. Might be July.

Very nice Tek! You may have mentioned it already but what color are your walls? Almond or a light blue? Has a clean, crisp, calming effect. I love all the windows and brightness.

Thank you for the great pics and you have wonderful design abilities ! Are you going to put something on the windows to keep out the summer heat and protect your furnishings? It's so bright and open and I bet you will have 8 people at that dining room table really soon too.
Alot of work but it's awesome !

Light blue/gray.

Yes. Right now the windows have those paper shades in black. We've added solar screens that cut 80% of the light coming through and will be adding some shades that have light blocking/room darkening features after all the remodeling is done.

Eight people for dinner (or anyone for dinner) will wait until after the remodeling is done.
