I look forward to the cooler weather when autumn arrives. I hate hot, sunny weather. Soon in Seattle, the rains will come, and the lovely soft gray skies, and I find that a comforting thought. It's 77 degrees Fahrenheit tonight in Seattle, at 10pm. Far, far, far too warm.
I hate winter but I love the fall. I like the fall colors. I like the days that are still comfortably warm but the nights are comfortably cool. Not a big football fan,but my husband is and I've come to enjoy tailgating before the game and then cheering for the team with the other fans.
School is in session so we can go to a lot of tourist destinations and not have to fight the summer crowds. Those first few evenings when we light up the fireplace are still almost magical for me.
I'm usually pretty happy weather wise right through the holiday season. Unfortunately in January I tend to become depressed and don't usually recover until well into spring.
Glorious fall foliage, crispy cool days and nights, festivals and fairs every weekend, hot instead of cold beverages, stews and soups instead of salads, clothes more concealing and flattering, World Series, college and high school football, children and teenagers off the streets and back in school, no more mowing, high grass and ticks and snakes abating, lower electric bill, day hikes in parks and forests, mums and gourds and pumpkins, theater season kicks into high gear, it's the best time of the year!
I hate summer. Too hot. I look forward to no cold AC blowing, cool temps, fall colors, snow fall, more intersting weather and fewer alergy problems for my wife.
World Series/MLB Playoffs - NFL and college football games (but not as much as in the past - after watching decades of football, less interesting anymore).
Here in FL, it seems like a lot of the fun starts when the cooler temps come back (late Fall, Winter)......and entertainment season starts for our city orchestra, Broadway plays come to town, etc.
Snowbirders start returning in Sept/October as well here in FL.....
