It seems like a good idea to use Roomba, or Shark, or other robots, as cleaning becomes more difficult with ageing...
Did anybody try them? How good are they?

My daughter got us a Neato a year ago...first I thought, why?...now I love it. Set it and forget it. We have a dog and never realized how much she sheds. Always surprised how much that thing picks up. And it goes under furniture. Probably gets spiders and such I bet. I hardly ever pull out my vacuum only to clean the furniture at times. Love it! You have to empty the collector each day, or we do. And brush out the filter. Have to buy a new battery every several years or so. And filters.

How well do these robo-vacuums handle the transition from one type of surface to another (wood or tile to carpet/area rugs)? They certainly sound convenient, but only if they can easily handle all the various surfaces found on the floors of my condo.

My daughter just got one and says the Roomba is great. Rugs, laminate and concrete floors, 2 dogs, and a toddling baby.

almost talked me into getting one.

My old Roomba is still running strong, does a fantastic job on carpet and hardwood. It was one of the first ones they made, got it in 2004, I think.

If you have a very neat house in the first place and nothing ever out of place they might be good. but if you have a lot of stuff and not very neat and people leaving stuff where ever, they would not be good at all.

If age is preventing me from keeping my house picked up the problem is more complicated than than a Roomba can deal with.
