The word I use to simplify my life is "no". Just say no to buying excess crap, going places you don't want to go, doing things you don't want to do, etc.
As for describing the "decrapifying" process, I'll stick with the words "simplify" and "declutter".
Lagom means "enough, sufficient, adequate, just right". Lagom is also widely translated as "in moderation", "in balance", "perfect-simple", and "suitable". Whereas words like sufficient and average suggest some degree of abstinence, scarcity, or failure, lagom carries the connotation of appropriateness, although not necessarily perfection. The archetypical Swedish proverb "Lagom är bäst", literally "The right amount is best", is also translated as "Enough is as good as a feast". That same proverb is translated as "There is virtue in moderation"
Lagom seems to relate to all areas of our life, managing our time, to how we eat, our home, appreciating and looking after our body. An overall approach to life.

I think of "No" as a powerful tool, but not the overall goal ...
I am using lots of "no's" to achieve a simple & balanced life,
but their are many new "yes's" that are helping too...
I got rid of a LOT of things we didn't need or want that we'd had far too many years, things we thought we couldn't live without. Many of those things were once from our parents etc... but we realized we still didn't need it. I even got rid of our wedding china. I called it purging and it felt great. I don't miss anything.

I like purging and I think will be doing that soon.
Very interesting...Those Swedes could teach us a thing of two.....
