Thank you! I now also have laryngitis, which is great with company here. Well, actually, it probably is great for our company. I roasted beets for a salad, made deviled eggs and the batter for Yorkshire pudding this evening.. Two pies, apple and cherry, will get made in the morning and then the rest is easy. After dinner, the hardest decision will be eggnog, spiced cider with rum, or limoncello... or all three. I will likely need to medicate myself by then.
As for the room, you would have to share it with a Springer spaniel who thinks everyone who comes to the house is there to play with her. What other possible reason would they have to visit?
I admire all that you are doing for your family at Christmas time. And all the rest of the year. You sound like a happy and content woman.
Oh I understand about dogs. I've had some in the past. Had to leave a dog when I moved out after divorce. Took the cat as I was going where cats were OK but dogs were not. Thought the ex would be good to her, but he re-homed (shelter?) when new wife didn't want her there.
Well 6" of snow overnight, 22 degrees now. I'm going for a walk. Oh my dog would have loved this...
The relationship with the dog, the love, never ends.
There will be another dog or dogs in your life. They may not be the dog of a life time, but they will be honored friends. Trust me on this.
