I was reading something that the delay might have something to do with if you filed yet for 2020 taxes or not.
I have not filed yet so my stimulus was based on my 2019 taxes filed in 2020. I got my direct deposit on 3/17.
I filed taxes early, and have not gotten the check yet. The last two were right on time by direct deposit, but it was before I was on SS. I am now collecting SS, and did not get my check yet.
I went on the IRS site a few days ago, and got the message that they couldn't process it because of a bad address or bad routing number. I went on the IRS site today to figure out what was screwed up, and the notification said I will receive the money Wednesday by electronic transfer to my account.
Not sure if it was SS, filing earlier, or if something was off kilter, but the 24th is now my date for the funds.
I've never provided a bank account number on any tax return. Nonetheless, when I checked Get My Payment site today, this is the message I got:
Payment Status
We scheduled your payment to be deposited on March 24, 2021 to the bank account below.
Bank Account Number: ************0123
If you don't see your payment credited to your account, check with your bank to verify they received it. We will mail you a letter with additional information on this payment.

First stimulus was an actual check, second stimulus was a debit card. I've been collecting SS since 2009. For earlier stimulus, IRS couldn't use SS direct deposit info. Appears SSA and IRS are now talking to each other.
ETA: I have not yet filed 2020 tax return.
