Safe area names to live in/around Providence as a single? (Warwick: apartment complex, rentals)

Hi everybody,

I am looking for a 1 br apartment in/around Providence. I dont know much about which areas are safe and good to live for singles.
I want it to be in an apartment complex with security, in at most 20 min distance from downtown Providence, safe area.

Any suggestions? or town names?

Look at the East Side of Providence (02906 area code) which is very close to downtown (1-3 miles depending on where on the East Side you are). Other areas are the Oakhill section of Pawtucket which is next to the East Side, Riverside (East Providence - 5 minute ride to downtown).

The East Side of Providence,where Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and Whole Foods is, is the safest. I don't know about apartment complexes there though. I'd call a realtor or check out Rhode Island Living - Finding your dream home has never been easier! for rental listings (that may not be comprehensive); subscribe to the Providence Journal Sunday edition for their classified section. East Providence is nearby and has some apartment complexes. Do a search for apartment rentals in Providence, RI to find the complexes which I'm sure will come up.

Warwick and Cranston aren't that far away and they have apartment complexes.
