Outbreak at a state run hospital: https://whdh.com/news/rhode-island-p...irus-outbreak/
"“The most troubling information we uncovered in doing contact tracing is that some staff members worked even while they had significant symptoms of cold or flu-like illness,” Daly’s email said. “This means that they signed the attestation we all sign every day saying they did not have these symptoms when they did.”"

A GoLocal article from Friday said:

"The rate at which the number of new cases is doubling is sending chills through healthcare professionals. With no change in policy by Governor Gina Raimondo’s administration, Rhode Island could realize daily new cases of 5,000 or more."

Unless more people start feeling the pandemic personally (friends & family sick & dying), private social behavior will likely not change. Especially with holidays coming. Regardless what sanctions the governor lays out, nothing short of a stay-at-home-except-for-necessities order would seem effective. Then she'll have the pitchfork crowd storming the statehouse. Talk about being between a rock & a hard place. But, it's what leadership is about.

She doesn't care about 50 or so idiots protesting at the State House. It's all about the economy.

I agree. I fear she won't do enough. And I hope she won't make another announcement on Wed with closures after yet another weekend of shopping and restaurants and bars! Michigan, I believe, is shutting down a lot as of Wed (announced today!) - but leaving retail and things like hair dressers open. Likely not enough, with the upcoming holiday shopping season, I am afraid. It was insane to wait with effective measures until just prior to the holiday period, with such an incredibly high community spread. I still can't get over the "closing breakrooms" announcement, just a few short weeks ago.
