While I do find the way she saved the state pension system appealing, she's not my type. As for how she's handling Covid-19, she's struggling along with many other governors. She should have never moved to the next phase. Not her finest moment.

I still don’t understand the link between a corporation setting up their COVID isolation ward space and vibrant democracy. There were lots of cities setting up overflow tents. What RI Hospital is doing is palatial compared to that. At the moment, hospitals are trying to avoid bankruptcy. They want the COVID patients as far as possible from everyone else to try to manage the fear that you’ll get the plague if you go to a hospital.

Yes of course. The "savior" of UHIP as well? She isn't any taxpayer's "type". Yes, it's a tough spot for any governor, but this one in particular caught your attention as a "star".

Not mine either, I'm a Barbara Stanwyck man.

We saw what happened when she delayed the inevitable in March. Using the current political climate as justification to delay it now is absurd.

When she talks about the problematic small private social gatherings, what she's not saying is that most of them are high school and college kids.

As for demonstrations at the State House, I'd guess it might be 50 people at the most. Perhaps I'm underestimating but I really don't see it as a big deal. I believe this is all about the schools.

I disagree. The small private social gatherings are of family & friends. Largely, indoors, unmasked & un-distanced.

Yes, families are included. Friends = mostly young people (college, high school).

Massachusetts has announced new restrictions.

***** THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO RHODE ISLAND ******

Post copied from the MA forum:

"Gov just announced more restrictions.

Stay at home advisory from 10pm to 5AM unless going to work
Everyone over 5 wears mask in public no matter how far away you are from people
No more indoor eating after 9:30pm
No more indoor liquor sales
casinos and other indoor entertainment to close
Indoor gatherings max 10 people
outdoor gatherings max 25 people

A few others....

The daily dashboard will be revamped, starting today. New metric, "case growth per age group" will be added. Dashboard update will move from 4PM to 5PM

They did mention in the press briefing that restaurants are not seen as a contributor to the rise in cases. They seem to be targeting small in-home gatherings. Half of all cases are under age 39"

There you go again, painting with your broad brush, making broad generalizations that serve no useful purpose. You're the other side of the debased coin you always trash.
