Big Fatty's in WRJ, VT is decent but the beer list is the real draw IMHO. Apart from that, my experiences have ranged from bad to just OK. It's one of the few areas where I'm skeptical of reviews since the bar is relatively low in this part of the world. I don't remember much about my experience at Wes's in the early aughts, but I can sill hear the radio ad clear as day in my head.
Big Fatty's has been on my list to try as well. Usually I just time it wrong though - we're never staying near White River Junction when we go to Vermont and it never fails that we're passing through too early in the morning, or the wrong day or something. But I'm glad you mentioned them, so I can make a point of it next time. River Roost is a must stop anyway
Stay away from both Sturbridge and Worcester. There have been crimes in both
Having a bad day, MMS?
Three weeks till Polar Park opens for the season...to cheer you up, how bout I take you to opening day, and we can go out for some 'cue after the game.

That’s the play! They’re in the same parking lot. Big Fatty’s also has a section for cans to go with some of the better VT breweries. And usually a couple from Hill Farmstead on draft.

I thought I heard they do growlers too? We did stop there last time but Fatty's was closed, but River Roost was open.

Oh they might, I just haven't tried that. When you walk in they have a little beer shop with the cans and bottles to go. I'm guessing the growler fills would be at the bar.
The "element" isn't ambient noise. It's a dog whistle.
