I'm a graduate student in my early 30's with an infant looking for a good area to stay from end of May to late August. My summer studies is at Brown Medical School and possibly training at Rhode Island Hospital. I don't mind driving 20 minutes or so to get to these places.
What neighorhoods/suburbs/areas would be friendly for a single parent and family... and where rent is affordable (I really don't want to pay $1000 for a 1 bedroom!). Safety is a must.
Try some of the Property Management Companies, they will be in the Providence area telephone book under that heading I believe. They may have some short term rentals that they know about. Such as: Carpionato Properties, Proccacianti Properties, Kelly & Picerne Co., Clarkin Mngmt. in Warwick (their office is in the RE/MAX Five Star office on Post Rd.), Vista Mngmt. in No. Prov. and so forth. Also check with your HR office at Brown U. and with the HR at RIH ... they may set you in the right direction also. Most real estate offices don't handle rentals, especially short term.
