There is more crime in Elk Grove than places like Rocklin or Roseville. Crime has risen in Elk Grove in the last few years. However, there are much more unsafe places around here. South Sac, Del Paso Heights....now those areas are unsafe!

Elk Grove is a wide wide city. The far west and far east are very safe. The middle bit touches on south sacramento. South sacramento is the ghetto and can be dangerous at night, during the day its not too bad.

Those two Sikh gentlmen who got shot, were attacked precisely on the border of south-sac and Elk Grove.

Depends on which park. Anywhere south of Sheldon is good, but moving far east or far west like mention above is even better.
