I'm hoping I can get some info and / or opinions of Woodland CA...

I lived in Woodland off and on while growing up between 1987 - 1993.... I liked it well enough back then and enjoyed living and going to school there.

A job opportunity has potentially come my way to work in Davis and since it's been so long that I lived in Woodland, I was curious if it's changed any?? ..... I did visit a couple years ago but only spent 3 days there so it's kinda hard to gauge if the city has really changed or not...

How are the schools? Middle and High School to be exact, Is the Crime rate average for the area or is it high / low?

Any info is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance!

Junior high and high schools are pretty mediocre.

Crime is confined largely to the downtown area, the northeast side and the streets around the fairgrounds and railroad tracks. The newer developments along Pole Line near the shopping center, the southwest corner, Faria Park and Beamer Park and very nice and typically suburban. I lived in both Woodland and Davis for a number of years. Davis has a younger, "hipper" vibe. Woodland residents tend to be older, the commute to Sac is easier, and the shopping is better.

Thank you! Appreciate the info... Yeah, Davis has always had a hipper, younger crowd i'm sure due to UC Davis... I wouldn't mind living there actually but the difference in cost of housing / rent is pretty substancial from what i've seen online...
