We love Lincoln..we don't live there, yet...our son lives there for the last year, I actually think it's quite charming, yet has all the shops and restaurants closeby in town..It's very diverse with different kinds of homes, new, old, etc..

We are selling our home here in Southern Utah and trying to get back home to the Lincoln, area..

I asked a friend of mine last week - here's his answer

We did live Lincoln for about 8 years, and it's a great little town.A lot of small town charm, but close to pretty much every kind ofshopping you could want. Its a bit crowded these days, but that'strue of a lot of the Sac area. We lived on the older side of town, which I really liked because we were close to down town and a hugepark. Most of the bigger houses are across the highway from town. They're all nice neighborhoods too.

The advantage in the new part of Lincoln is the vegetation. It looks nice because everything is computer watered, and it's green all the time. However, most of these areas are under an Association, which sometime behaves pretty dictatorial and bizarre. What do they offer? Pretty much ... nothing, but the monthly fee. There is a High speed Internet, and maintaining the ... Club. I wish they will get away from the Association because they are annoying, nasty (often - i.e. if you have guests over night and there is no room to park on the driveway, you have to ask their ... permission to park on the street, for how long, how many cars, etc., otherwise you could get a fine for unauthorized parking!). There is no other parking around where guests can park. I understand that keeping wrong people from our street is important, but not creating spaces for parking outside your driveway is a problem.

It is a new development and fast growing. I like the fact that it is close to the casino.

I am looking at the old part of Lincoln as a possibility. My commute would be to Granite Bay (cant afford there). Would I face bumper to bumper traffic with a 6am-3pm commute? If so, where? In Lincoln itself or the 65?

The commute on 65 is gonna be the worst part of it. Until they get the Lincoln bypass built, it will continue to get worse. I would look in the Orangevale area with your commute.
