hi my family and i are moving to park city for my husbands work and are looking to rent a single family home , but because i dont drive we need somewhere that is near to shops , schools etc . my children are aged 3 and 8 yrs old . is the lower pinebrook area any good or mustang loop . any help will be much appreciated as we are moving form the uk and dont know utah at all . thanks .

living in park city and not driving isnt going to be the easiest thing in the world to do. Is he going to be working up there or down in the valley?

Park City has a GREAT bus system and it's FREE too. Check out the city web sight for details on the routes and times..one of the few things that I miss about living there. There is a grocery store near Pinebrook and a few restaurants but that is about it. If you can get closer to the Kimballs Junction area, there are 2 grocery stores, several restaurants, movie theater etc.

moving to utah
hi guys thanks for ur replies. my husband is going to working for Rio tinto in salt lake city. where would you suggest would be a good place to live then? we have to rent for the first year. has to be a good area for the kids i dont want to be isolated. i have a friend from uk that has moved to jeremy ranch in PC but dont think i would be able to stay out there would i ? im quite a sociable person so need to be around lots of people .

I would suggest the Daybreak community located in South Jordan! You are close to shopping and schools and there is always a lot to do. It will be very easy to socialize there. Our Daybreak resident/guru Hilgi should be along soon to chime in about the benefits of living there. Until then, why don't you check out this link about the Daybreak area?

I agree that Park City would be waaaay out of the way for Rio Tinto. So many closer places that would be better for the commute and for you! Daybreak is a good choice as it is close and very diverse.

Salt Lake City is nicer for not driving and you can still get a really nice house. The area east of Westminster College is nice.

Is your hubby working at the actual copper pit or at the offices near the airport? If you know where he will be located, we can make more suggestions for great areas. I love my area in East Millcreek but would not want to drive out to the copper pit or the smelter area from here everyday. My husband works out right near the airport-super easy and short drive for him.
