Sorry to sound blunt but you're trying to compare a Chevy with a Mercedes (sorry for the auto analogy but it still works). How in the world can someone compare those two places? They are like opposite ends of the social strata and location convenience as well. I can't imagine an easier decision...........Bluffdale.....end of story

I say Bluffdale as well.

But, the OP has not given enough info to make an informed decision. Why choose those two? What are your priorities for potential housing here?

Buying or renting? Apartment or house? What is your budget? How close will your job be? What kind of a commute do you want? Are you single, do you have kids?

All of this info will get you a lot more responses that are worth something.

Sorry I didn't give any background, here you go ...

We are looking into purchasing a new home in either Foxboro (NSL) or Indpenedence Point (Bluffdale) and have narrowed it down to these 2 because of our budget. I am married and do not have kids yet. I work in Holladay and my husband works in Sandy. We currently live in the East Millcreek area and love it, but can't find a house that is within our budget.

Reasons we are looking at NSL:
*Love the home - One level and open floor plan
*In between my husband and I's families
*Close to SLC
*Young neighborhood - Young families and couples in their 30's
*Good schools
*Close to the freeway
*Nice park within walking distance
*Legacy trail
*I do not like the area for these reasons: industrial area, people do not think highly of NSL, and it's still needing some developing.

Reasons we are looking at Bluffdale:
*Close to the freeway
*People think highly of Bluffdale
*Nice mountain view
*Home has unfinished basement
*Close to shopping
*I do not like this home because: no wow factor it is a standard 2 story home, shared driveway, further from my husband's parents, building could go on for years since its in the absolute beginning stage.

People think highly of Bluffdale? Maybe people in Lehi or something. I think of it as Eagle Mountain North. Blech!
What is your budget, anyway?

Properties in Bluffdale are going up in price. It is hot commodity right now because it sits near the border of Utah and Salt Lake County, and is right in the middle for commuters.

I wouldn't want a shared driveway That's just me. Bluffdale isn't that close to the freeway. The pocket closer to the prison is, but any other part of Bluffdale is at least 10 minutes to get to the I-15.

However, Bluffdale seems like a closer drive for both of your commutes. But it sounds like the house in NSL is a better fit for you. If it were me, I would wait it out, and see if you can get something in your price range in an area you are 100 percent happy with.
