kmathmortgage, This thread is like 7 months old. I'm sure the posters have figured it out by now. I'm not trying to be mean & it's nice of you to help, but people don't usually stick around that long looking for answers.

I an relocating to Utah also - I found a great website for searching for houses (with alittle ground to them) it's uthorseproperties.com. My husband is out touring houses with them now - we are very pleased with their diligence in finding the right place, and their ethics. They're located in Eden (which I found to be a gorgeous area!) Heber is gorgeous also.

Default To Cinnabon

Thanks Cinnabon,
Your right, this was the first time I have been on this sight and did not notice the dates. Felt a little stupid when I noticed it.
Hopefully others thinking of moving to Park City will see these and it will help them make a good selection.
Take Care,
Kmathmortgage

Eden is wonderful. I have gone water skiing and fishing in Pineview lake for over 20 years. I was surprised how high prices have gone up there considering the distance from Salt Lake.
However, it is a great pick if you work in Ogden. It is a long commute if you work in Salt Lake.
For cheaper horse property you could go to Tooele, Hooper, or Syracuse. There is one lot that I know of in Emigration Canyon with 20 acres. 10 of it is for horses. It is in the mountains less than 10 minutes from the city. Very nice elite community. Pretty pricey though. More of a Park City type of place but closer to Salt Lake.
Good Luck on your move!

kmathmortgage,

FWIW - MoJoDog moved to Summit Park in August and they love it here! We are fortunate to have them as neighbors. It's not always just about value, sometimes it's about quality of life and the right match based on desired lifestyle

Cheers!

The commute from the skii resorts to Summit Park and Pinebrook is relatively flat. If you are going to live in Park City, the value is closer to the skii resorts.
Something closer to SL but still in the mountains might be better for you. It will still keep you out of the inversion.

Your right. Everyone has their own reasons. I am sure your neighborhood is wonderful.
I have a home in Emigration Canyon for most of the same reasons.

Is Emigration Canyon a town or an area? I cannot seem to find it on a map.

Thanks!

Emigration is an area in Salt Lake. Zip code is 84108. Hogal Zoo, University Medical Park, and University of Utah are all at the base of the Emigration Canyon. There is also a resturant a few minutes up the canyon named "Ruth's Diner". You can't beat the food.
There are two subdivisions up the canyon. One is named "Emigration Place". It is a gated community with estate lots from .50 acres to 3 acres. The other is Emigration Oaks. It is not gated but is in a bigger part of the canyon. It has mostly lots of .50 acres to 10 acres.
Let me know if you need anymore information.
Take Care,
