I live in Sacramento and to me, I love them both. Salt Lake is for the most part easier to drive through. I don't know about this fast pace slow pace stuff people keep talking about. They say California has a fast pace about it, but I don't see that, all I see here are traffic jams and the only people going a fast pace are the California Highway Patrolmen going 80 MPH to catch the guy in front of you going 66 in a 65 MPH zone.

Salt Lake doesn't have that police state feel to it that California has.

I would prefer Sacramento because I hate driving in snow, I hate cold weather, etc but I hate getting tickets for stupid reasons and I hate getting tail gated by cops, which happened to me in California on my way to Utah but never in Nevada, never in Idaho, and never my whole week last week in Salt Lake.

I'm Mormon so I hate bars and I think drinkers are disgusting people, and I resent all the bars I saw in Salt Lake near the Mormon Temple, but other than that I love it.

Let's not be rash here. Not all drinkers are menaces to society, some just like a glass of wine from time to time for example. And what will you do about the bars in close proximity to the Temple, our Downtown isn't that expansive so there isn't much room to relocate without being somewhere considered the suburbs.

Shows that stereotyping can go both ways. Probably better to say “I hate irresponsible drinking.”

Did anyone ask you to come live here? There are 49 other states.
Geez, no wonder some of us feel unwelcome. I had no choice either, job situation. Oh yeah, I could have quit.

It is this kind of comment that divides us. I don't complain about much, but this is one comment that really pisses me off. It says you think you are superior, your way of life is superior, and we are fools not to follow you, so go home instead.

NO place is perfect on Earth, no one group of people superior to another (as Pres. Hinckley said publicly, on more than one occasion), no one way of doing things is the only acceptable way. I think we should just try to love thy neighbor as thyself!

u know what..there are enough temples in Utah where you wouldn't have to venture to one next to a bar...my question is..do u go to restaurants that serve alcohol??? what would make it any different?? I doubt the bars are open during temple time anyways

i think they need more cops doing the traffic scene here, but u know what ive seen them without blinkers, running thru yellow lights, making u-bies where its not allowed and yet they make an out of stater take a written driving test..lol

Uturns are synonymous with Utah. They are restricted in very few areas, unlike most states. Our nice wide roads help.

Well today it was funky. I was in the left turning lane to make a u turn and the guy in front of me with a trailer on the back was in front of me. I was sure he was going to turn into the shopping center (hence landscape equipment on the trailor) and low and behold some idiot makes a right out of the shopping center even though he had a red light. Well after he cuts me off I go to make my ubie and then the guy in the trailer decides he is making one too...arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....man people make no sense

Mormons don't seem to like being judged and persecuted by the gentiles who live among them, so in the spirit of avoiding hypocrisy, I politely suggest you refrain from passing similar judgment. I drink, but I also enjoy and respect my Mormon neighbors, at least those who don't judge me.
