This is General Conference weekend so there will be lots of extra traffic downtown. Tonight's news said maybe 100,000 extra people. If you don't need to go downtown, don't fight it!

Twice a year, the LDS church holds a conference downtown, for as many members as can attend. People come from around the country and the world to attend. The leadership speaks to the people about matters of faith. It will be broadcast on TV for those who can't make it in person. Not everyopne goes every year, certainly not the visitors from other areas of the country/world. Parking is going to be tight and many people take TRAX in from Sandy and other places - but still, lots of traffic. The so-called Christian missionaries come out also, to use bullhorns and tell the LDS how they're going to Hell for their beliefs. I don't understand how they think that converts anyone.

It's kinda like the animal rights people throwing red paint on people wearing fur, or the pro-lifers and their ugly pictures outside of dr. offices. It doesn't really change anyones minds, and just draws negative attention to themselves, IMHO.

You know, it's not like the city shuts down during conference weekend. Get out and do something. If you hate it, stop complaining about it and just ignore it.
