A very sad story, maybe someone from a rural area with the know how can go help these folks, lots of their hard work has been destroyed.

Gotta put a TON of mothballs down in the yard, as that helps to dissuade them, but they'll just go to the neighbors. Need to have them trapped and killed. Usually they're digging for grubs, and since we haven't had any rain for a while, they're probably finding places where the lawn is watered often. The bumper crop of acorns isn't helping either, as they love those.

They're more efficient than any tiller, that's for sure.

This happened to my parents yard back when I was in high school. Had to basically redo the whole yard. I bet there will be a few people with shotguns sleeping on their yards now

We had chickens invade our backyard once, they slept on a tree, took over the yard, harassed the cats, and begin taking their food. I even tried catching them once, starting with the small ones, but the mother hen came at me and I'm a city boy and this was in the city so I got scared off pretty easily.

I met a girl once from the country who said her sister would bring a date home and set them up in a way to see if they could catch a chicken as a way to test them. If they failed the test and couldn't he would be scratched off her list.

We had to eventually call some people from the rancho to come take care of them, they came and trapped em all within minutes, I was amazed.

So sad!

This happened in a neighborhood off Marbach/410 area as well this past summer.

Are the hogs all over the city? I had heard nothing of it until I heard about the Marbach area.

It always amazes me how people continue to move farther and farther outside of the city and then are surprised when the critters invade. It truly sucks to have your yard torn up that way, but isnt that part of the risk you run when you move out there?

They usually hide out in heavily wooded areas. Rosehart has wooded areas nearby. They come out when it's been dry for a while. Or when there are tons of acorns in a certain area.

At one of my $2+ million listings my client walked out to see one of the largest hogs she's ever seen just hanging out on her porch eating acorns in the middle of the day. Every bit of 500 lbs. It was like a small hippo.

Be sure to change the listing to: home does not include pet!

Goodness! Didn't know they would be in the Marbach/410 area.
What neighborhood were they in? I'm kinda nearby.
