I was told that my first name (Joseph) was misspelled in the system (Joesph), which in turn would be misspelled on the title, which of course I don't have yet, so I wouldn't have known. The lady told me I might want to get that corrected so there won't be any problems in the future, and gave me the phone number to call to get this fixed. I called the number right away, and was told I had to pay to get it fixed. This blew me away. I have to pay to fix someone else's mistake? I'm not the one who misspelled my name, yet I have to pay to fix it. It just proves what kind of country we live in now. We are nickle and dimed to death. I paid it, but honestly it didn't make sense, considering it was no mistake on my part.
I might have to side with them on this one depending on where the mistake originated. Any time I have bought a car they have shown me every document and asked me to make sure everything was spelled correctly. If there is an error on one of your docs and you missed it, well that is on you. If all of your docs are correct them it is on them.

As far as the original topic, the OP mentioned "I have a life". Well, we all do and I just cant let $7 affect mine. It sucks they levied the fee but life is too short for $7 to make my blood boil on a one time thing. If it was something that was going to add up over time it might get me bent out of shape, but a one time charge isnt worth getting that upset over.

Just my $.02

Sorry...but don't blame the messenger! We go in...but DH is disabled, so there's very little waiting.

I did; they are.

It seems like ONLY the Feds usually take Columbus' day off.

Not having to take the time to go in to their office and waste my fuel, etc. to get there as well is well worth the fee to me. I love the convenience factor of anything I can either mail, pay online or even do while I am picking up a few groceries!
