My husband is trying to get health insurance and needs to get a blood pressure reading from a doctor to send in to the insurance company.

I have tried to call a few doctors offices/clinics and they are either over $150 or require him to "register" or something and prove income (our income is mid level), and one place just wouldn't answer the phone and when they did put me on hold for 20 min. (This was at Well Med and happened 3 days I tried to call)

When I was just out of college I did not have health insurance and when I needed to go to the doctor I went to a general family physician and he charged me $50 for the visit. This was in Southern California 8 or so years ago though.

Is there any doctor or clinic here in San Antonio where he can just walk in or make an appt. and pay about $50? Or at least under $100?

Any recommendations or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I thought Texas Medclinics will check your bp, either for free or a nominal fee. Good luck!

Check the Complete Urgent Care Clinic, too.......there is one at Culebra and 1604 and DeZavala and 10, plus another one, I think.

^^^ They might check it, but I am not sure if they will issue a letter for the insurance - for free or nominal fee.
Doctors do not like in-and-out patients. They want your whole medical and financial history, so they can start a medical records chart and make you come back again and again...

Urgent Care Clinics might be different, thought ...

I have insurance... a visit at Urgent Care costs $75.

I have no idea of what the cost would be without insurance.

No worries... I get other benefits.

If the OP is like me they may find their BP reading goes
up when in a medical setting or a nurse/doctor is around.

Something about white coat syndrome... even though many
no longer wear the white coat.
