I do believe the police are now hanging under bridges to catch those people that are not buckling up. As in the Click-it or Ticket campaign. As long as you have your seat belt on you have no worries.

The problem is, there are too many things that are made-up "crimes" and too many of them are about money & not safety, public or private.

I've been involved in law enforcement for over 30 years (since I was 19 years old) and the thing I've learned most is that those people who whine, cry and complain about police officers are the first ones to yell for help from one of us when the need arises.

Enforcement of seat bealts for children makes sense but for adults??? If I'm a legal adult and want to die in a car wreck because of my own ignorance why not let me? (I always put on my seat belt)

Well then you might also find unless you are a criminal everyone would call on you when the need arises. We pay for your salary so why not use your service?

1. Speed limits are set per National standards - not by you, us or some arbitrary decision.

2. Inspections are a required part of operating a motor vehicle on public roadways, not something new they cooked up.

3. Registration stickers help pay for roads and bridges - how else are they supposed to be paid for? Should they be free?

4. A citation for "running" a light that's stuck will be thrown out of court - IF a cop even writes a citation for such.(I've had a couple where the cop would take the time to observe the light cycle for himself, even, and not write a ticket).

We pay you cops for help, but in all my 20 years in San Antonio the cops were helpless when I needed help, and in fact gave me wrong information or did the wrong thing (like the time my car got hit and was rendered undriveable and yet the cop didn't arrange a tow truck for me which I couldn't do due to severe hearing impairment). Maybe it's time for me to whine about the San Antonio police, so maybe you can tell me who I can write to about police malfunction?

How about area's like Leon Valley or Shavano park, the speed limit drops by 10 mph(on the same road) for no reason(other then revenue.
)

Then why isnt there a national standard? Why do some states not have an inspection. The inspection here is a joke, and is nothing more then a money grab
. Your car can pass inspection if you have no windshield, but it will fail if you have no wipers.
