Just left the pool party for the soccer kids - it went great! All the kids that played got little spinning soccer trophies, people brought tons of food...it was a bit cold but the kids had fun. Thanks to Sandy and Al for putting the program together!

Today's rummage sale went well - we were packed with homeowners!! I don't think we ran into any trouble, except for at the very end when piling items up for the Medina Children's Shelter. People were looking at the donations as a 'free' pile and trying to take stuff (again) - it's all we can do to not yell at people! Geez!!!

Oh, and the recycle dumpsters are not for trash. DUH!

We just drove by on the way home and decided to drive into the "Reserve" by McMillan, boy are those houses going to be nice and in nice spots. Quite a bit of people at the newer pool.

Looked at their web site and noticed all the models are 2 story. No wonder, the lots are small. I thought they pulled out of Westcreek when they sold their "inferior" lots to Greensboro homes. BTW, Greensboro seems to be doing well in the "Park."

Is the Westcreek HOA extending the parking lot in the older park section? They must have received a good deal on railroad ties as there are lots of them in that area now. I'm sure the termites will thank them and it does look tacky to just throw down a bunch of gravel and railroad ties. They did the same think on both sides of the club house. I know asphalt isn't cheap, but why not invest some of that money they take in?

Tacky, sure. But when you lay down asphalt the area becomes taxable as road, so gravel it is, unless you want your fees to go up! They are also extending the parking next to the community center on both sides too.

They have good plans for the park, this is part of it.

On another note, my youngest daughter has been taking the swimming classes VWOA is offering - she is very happy with them! The crew has been great....

Nice try, but if you check BCAD you'll see that the current asphalt has a zero value. In fact, the whole area is valued only at $600. In fact, the estimated property taxes for both common areas that the HOA pays this year is less than $27.

Swimming lessons are great...hope you're paying for the lessons.

There are over 3200 homes in Westcreek. How expensive could it be to pave those spots? I'd be willing to pay the few bucks extra in dues. I'm sure others would as well.

Well, that was the way it was explained to us at the last meeting. Once it becomes an official "road way" it becomes taxable, they said...

This article: MySA.com: Real Estate (broken link) in today's paper lists Westcreek as #12. For some reason they didn't put the top 30 listing in the article though.
