Nobody said that Chicago was safer. The argument was that Chicago leads in violent crime, San Antonio leads in property crime, and that gun ownership in San Antonio is not the reason for low violent crime rates as shown by high violent crime rates in Texas with the same gun ownership laws.
My statistics? I sourced them, they are not mine!

Moderator cut: see note You claim the gang problem is so bad in SA yet the vast majority of people in this city have not been directly affected by it. Do some research and quit ignoring the facts and maybe you'll actually benefit from some of the information being posted in these threads...

What is comical is how you continuously post your opinion on how bad things are around here, but can't accept the statistics that prove it isn't.

I would much rather live in a place with property crime instead of violent crime. Someone stealing your lawn mower is preferable to someone stabbing you!

Moderator cut: see note Where have I said that the gang problem in San Antonio is bad?

You're obviously free to choose to live in a city where you're happy that somebody stole your lawnmower because they didn't stab you. It is a very fitting mentality for this city. Personally, I'd like to have my lawnmower AND not get stabbed, but these types of crazy new ideas usually aren't too welcome around here.

Despite a Supreme Court ruling that Chicago’s firearms ban violated its citizens’ Second Amendment Rights, Daly's administration worked the city’s laws making it nearly impossible to obtain a handgun license in desperate hope that strict gun control laws would decrease crime in the city. It has failed miserably, to the detriment of the city's overworked and outgunned police force.

In comparison, Texas more logical gun laws favor the law-abiding citizen, which greatly reduces crime here.

Violent crime rates have nothing to do with losers having kids and not taking care of them right?

Its all about guns and gun laws you are correct....Oh wait but anyone can walk into a Walmart and plop down 200$ for a shotgun...oh but thats different right? lol.

Some people live in fear thanks to the media.

Do I want to go into the heart of any size able city at midnight? Nope.

Ummmmmm....OPINION!

Moderator cut: see note

Also, wander into the "heart" of San Antonio at midnight and it'll be one of the safest places you will find.

But Chicago? Hell, I wouldn't feel safe there during the middle of the day!

What area of Chicago are you frequenting? It's a fabulous city.
I'm guessing you're doing the ghetto when you're there?

I am sure it has to do something with not being able to strap a pistol to yourself (in other words, a CHL) in Chicago compared to San Antonio.

Moderator cut: see note It is a wonderful city that just happens to have some great neighborhoods and some horrible ones, just like any big city. In fact, I don't know a single person that has visited Chicago that hasn't absolutely loved it.

And you are so far off the mark concerning armed citizens that it's not even worth trying to tell you the truth. Again, it is another one of the situations where you confuse OPINION with FACT!
I've seen street fights break out downtown with a few dozen people spilling out of a club, blood everywhere. I've seen people shooting up in the parks. That was just downtown, not a gang infested area on the east side. If you're trying to tell everyone that the downtown area of San Antonio is any different than any big American city, you're out of your mind. There is nothing special about San Antonio and gun laws aren't making it any safer.

As with any big city, there are good areas and bad. I've been out at the clubs in Wrigleyville until 5am, completely safe, and while I could say the same thing about some areas here, in none of them could I walk to the bar, have a few drinks and walk home, hence the ridiculous DUI problem here.

You really need to stop talking about everything like you're an authority on the subject, when it is obvious that you've never lived in Chicago, and I doubt you've ever even visited there.
