Help!! I know everyone has brown grass right now but this is KILLING me! I have a very small area I try to keep somewhat green for the small dogs I have. These brown circular spots are totally taking over and killing everything in it's path. What can I do?? It's such a small area I wonder about just redoing it completely but is there anyway to just put new over old? When we planted this part almost 20 years ago we just put the sod down, watered it and stepped on it like crazy. It took right away.

Also, will this stuff kill plants in the yard? Like an Esperanza?

Do your dogs happen to be puppies or females?
What might be happening is those brown spots are where they are urinating and it is killing the grass in that spot.

Exactly!

Females dog urine kills grass.

Nope, it's some kind of bug. Had it happen to our front yard a few years back, no dogs do their "business" out there. Rant o Lowe's and got all kinds of stuff and some lucky combination did the trick although I have no clue as to what did it!

Cheers! M2

Default Grubs,

You might have a grubworm problem , they feed on grass roots. Pesticide for it is sold at hardware stores. I believe it is the larval stage of a June bug.
