Two Creeks is our neighbor community and I have to say, I love living in this area! We did a lot of research and cost our real estate agents more than just some nerves but they finally found the best fit for us. Great schools, close to the RIM and La Canterra, not that far away from the City.... Plus it's already Hill Country which I find much more appealing than the "flat" areas of SA.

Lynnylo,

' Just looked up Two Creeks, and was impressed! I hadn't been aware of this neighborhood before. It looks like they really planned things out carefully, with so many amenities.

I agree, the NW area is very convenient, but also at the base of the Hill Country, as you pointed out. Having lived in both the northside and then northwest, the northwest seems to be prettier and without the tightly-stacked and packed subdivisions of the northside.

The OP has a lot of homework to do! Good luck!

Thanks so much for all the responses! Two more weeks until we can see the area for ourselves. All of the recommendations and research has really help to prepare us.

We are in such a time crunch and will need to close on a house in about 3 weeks!

If this isn't possible, does anyone recommend family friendly, spacious, affordable apartment complexes, keeping in mind the commute to the medical center district! Thanks again!

There are plenty of extended-stay hotels in the Medical Center area with weekly rates. That would give you more flexibility than a short-term apartment.

If you are working in the Medical Center that may be quite a drive. There are several nice areas and you are close to many parks and close to 281, 1604 and 410. I can't think of any neighborhoods since I'm not super familiar with the area, but if you're up for a 45 minute commute on a bad day or about a 30 minute minute commute on a good day than it could be a good fit.

YES! Crownridge, specifically Legend Hills. AWESOME family neighborhood, wonderful breezes, and breathtaking views... and not much room to build around it. We love it.

Stonewall Ranch has a lot of traffic problems WITHIN the neighborhood. Living in a gated community is great if you don't mind the fact that speeding and running stop signs are a given. There's just no way to enforce the rules. It would require a private police force and that's cost prohibitive. A little girl almost got hit the other day crossing from the community pool to her house on the main road. We even have cameras at the gates, but you can't put cameras down the entire length of road. The HOA Board is also not very responsive to complaints yet the management dings you for every little thing, and if they make a mistake, they also make no apologies for it. Avoid.
