How funny though that HEB closed off the toy isle on Sundays but they sold Playboy, Hustler and Penthouse along with all the other magazines and no plastic cover.
Those Blue Laws never made sense...

So it's true. I dated somebody that grew up on the South Side and he said that he and his brother would climb up on top of their house to watch the porn flicks. He said that it didn't matter that there wasn't any sound. I really didn't believe him at all.....till now....that is.

Yep its true. At the Trail Inn Drive Inn which was on Military Dr. where the old Wal-Mart was. I remember going to McDonalds on Military and Roosevelt with my (girl) cousins and climbing to the top of the Grimmice, or one of those characters they had on the playground, and watching those nasty movies.
Again, those were the good old days. I think everyone in generation is somewhat perverted growing up in those times. Thanks Benny Hill

Does anyone remember when Nike first became popular in the early 1980's? It seemed like everyone had a pair of those white canvas court shoes with the light blue Nike swoosh on the sides. They had a name for that style, but I forget what it was called.

At about the same time there were these regular oxford type shoes that a lot of kids wore. I'm pretty sure they were suede and came in either brown or black. Like traditional casual shoes. I never knew where they got them from. Maybe KMart. Even girls wore them. It seemed like they were big with "street" kids for some reason.

Do you remember Pica Pop. It was close to the Dunkin Donuts. You get a case of soda put down a deposit. Then next time you just bring back the empty bottles and just pay for the soda. It was supposed to be cheaper than Regular soda. I thought when Handy Andy Had there 10 sodas for $1.00 was cheaper. Sometimes they had Shasta 8 for a buck.
How about Piggly Wiggly. The one I used to go to was On Formosa and Pleasenton RD I think. It later Changed to Handy Andy. The adults would try to be funny. Just like Monkey Wards but this time Hogly Wogly.
