No, that scene was long gone by the time I started to wander the paths with my date in the early 80's. It was pretty deserted by then, just a few other couples from time to time.

In the days I'm speaking of there would be probably a couple hundered on a Saturday night, Maybe 30 to 50 on a slow weekend night. It was really fun until it ended abruptly.

Oh I love reading all these posts! I graduated from Churchill in 74 - first job was at Kreske's in North Star Mall, then I worked at La Hacienda Dinner Theater (later Fiesta) from the week before it opened until I left San Antonio in 1976. It was first owned by a group of investors and then Ernesto Ancira's father bought it. I loved reading about Stinky Falls, Edge Falls, the drive-inn on San Pedro, the Midget house, the donkey lady, Jim's coffee shops, etc.. I remember going to some weird place on San Pedro for awhile that you just paid an admission, went it and sat on these comfy bleacher type seats and watched a "light show" to music on a huge screen... can't remember what it was called - and can't remember much about being there - hahaha - but I know I was there a few times! Also there was an all-ages club out near the Northside Stadium that I used to go to after the games - I can't remember its name though. Oh - and did anyone go to the Bottle Rocket wars in the Churchill parking lots over the Christmas holidays?????

I believe that's near San Pedro and Basse. If I'm not mistaken the old Whataburger (triangle-shaped) building is still there but used for something else. You can't miss it. It's just south of Basse on the right.
