My grandma swears Bud Jones has great chicken fried steaks. I've had them--they're not bad. But I don't know how one could really mess up a chicken fried steak. Bud Jones is at: 1440 SW Military Dr

Tip Top Cafe on Fredricksburg Rd is my favorite. It is actually called dewese's tip top.

It's not a regular menu item but occasionally Josephine street had a chicken fried ribeye thats really good...

Lulu's jailhouse cafe if she is still around is the best place but go hungry cause the portions are huge!

Lulu's in now on N. Main ave just north of 35.... portions are still huge! Pick up a 3lb cinnamon roll for breakfast the next morning.

Have to agree with Tip Top...there is a REASON folks stand in line to get in there to eat.

Don't eat there often, but always enjoy when we do. Just be ready for the "blast from the past" decor when you step in to the "way back" machine!
