I believe that they open this Thursday 11/17.
Can't wait as I work down the street from the new location and love their happy hour

I got all excited when I read the original post about it, so I drove over to check it out: it's a shell right now. Nothing inside, just construction. It'll probably be a few weeks or so.

There is a "now hiring" sign or something on, though. With a slight bit of info saying that their food isn't raw like Japanese sushi.

'twas disappointing to see it empty & closed, but that's okay. Looking forward to seeing it open!

In the picture they pasted in the window, they looked like sushi, but they're not. It's cooked and covered in rice and a roll. Don't quite know how to explain it any better than that. That's exactly what it looked like in the picture.

Looking forward to trying the place out when it opens.

They're called "gimbap" in Korean. Typical fillings include bulgogi (marinated beef), carrots, yellow radish, spinach, and egg. I like sushi but I prefer gimbap. I really think it will become the next big trendy food item in the U.S. stealing a lot of sushi's thunder because the meat is cooked. Most of the people I know who avoid sushi do so because the meat is raw. Also, I know many people who don't eat seafood. The meat used in gimbap is beef.
