I heard yesterday that major construction will EVENTUALLY occur at Loop 1604 and Marbach due to the number of accidents at that intersection. I know any accident is bad but don't the Dumb Asses that be do their research?. There are far more accidents at 1604 @ Potranco and 1604 @ SH 151. I don't mind money being spent on safety but they need to start at those two intersections.

1604/Marbach is way overdue as some of the neighborhoods in that area have homes from the 1980's and the area just keeps growing with new subdivisions. There is only one or two ways out if living near there and then the yield at the 90 exit to 1604 is yech.

It looks like they're extending Military Drive at Potranco to join up with the other road. This is the final section of Military Drive. What's next, extend Ingram Road or Hunt Lane?

Please not Hunt Lane...that would end up in my backyard. I saw some plans online somewhere a few years back, but then heard it wasn't going to happen. As soon as you hear they are going to start doing it, let me know. Our house will go on the market.

Silly question but I'll ask anyway. Does the City have to have a Public Meeting / Hearing before any road construction begins?

Back in 2000 the city paid for a study about linking up Military Drive to Reed Road: AN ORDINANCE 91597

Another reference in 2005: AN ORDINANCE 101460

Oh please let them join Military finally! It's bad enough Reed has been turned into a dragstrip lately. It would be nice to relieve Reed of some of the traffic that seems to have grown exponentially. Now that the "cornfield" has been turned into a subdivision it is only going to get worse.

Side note, I really hate those 20mph speed humps, but if there was ever a street that needed them it is Reed.

One of the new subdivisions has already built about half way across that field:
