Hello everyone! I'm obviously new here and I will hopefully be moving to the area soon.

Just looking for some info on the area and read through a TON of this thread lol

Also, I found this article with concerns to Stevens Ranch

http://www.bizjournals.com/sanantoni...n-the-san.html

Hopefully we will see some movement on that soon :-)

Thanks for posting that article...will be interesting to see what happens with Stevens Ranch and if it will bring any more development to the area. Still, top priority needs to be widening Potranco to 4+ lanes west of 1604. Otherwise, traffic will keep getting worse...

I'm a newbie to this forum. Looks like I can find some interesting info here.

I live near the 1604/Marbach area and looks like TXDot will be holding a meeting on Thursday, January 20 at the middle school nearby (I forgot the name) in regards to the 1604/Marbach intersection. Hopefully I will be able to make it to find out more info. Anybody else hear about this meeting?

I saw the digital sign for it. If I remember it is at Scobee middle school which is on Marbach just after you turn from 1604.

The meeting is from 6:30-8pm http://www.morefor1604.com/assets/at...at_Marbach.pdf

"According to TxDOT, the proposal includes constructing one lane in each direction on Loop 1604 that would overpass Marbach Road. This lane would diverge from the existing lanes, overpass Marbach Road, and then merge with the existing lanes once beyond the Marbach intersection. The two directions of traffic on the overpass would be separated by a traffic barrier and necessary shoulders would be constructed to provide a safe facility. The grade separation would be constructed between the existing lanes of traffic leaving the existing at-grade intersection in place to serve the turning movements."

Info from the newsletter which can be found here More For Loop 1604 Public Site - Home Page

So heading south on 1604 we'll get to stop and let the 2-3 cars enter 1604 from Emory Peak (why? why? why!), fly over Marbach, right into the mess at the 1604/90 interchange. Baby steps I guess.......

Re Weston Oaks. I emailed David Weekley homes to find out when they would start building and they replied in February 2011. The traffic is going to be awfull and no plans to widen Potranco until at least 2014 was the last I heard.

Okay--so not Potranco and 1604, but down the road at Potranco and 151. And I apologize if this has been posted previously. I know some would be interested that a Carl's Jr is going up between the Tx Med Clinic and the strip mall that houses Jamba Juice, Five Guys and others.

I could care less....but hubby sure is excited.

I found this information on "Potranco Market Shoppingn Center" Located by Wal-Mart. It shows a Lowes and Costco being built.

Wow, thanks for sharing the link. I would love to have a Costco and a few more sit-down restaurants around here.

On the Levcor site, it calls this a "former" project, so I'm not sure it will happen. Since the economy tanked, this side of town has suffered. Even our HEB Plus has gone downhill and there are vacancies in the ever-popular stripmalls in the area, too.
