But now that it's being built toward Alamo Ranch, it's not okay?

That's what happens when an urban area grows and grows and continues to push further and further out. Businesses will follow and push further and further out as well.
I live at 1604 and Potranco and I am perfectly fine with it in AR

For us, the growth of this whole western side (Potranco/1604, Potranco/151, etc) has us moving and getting the heck out. Just heard from someone in my community (not sure how much truth there is because I don't know where to research it to verify) the greenbelt behind our house has been re-zoned for commercial property....definitely time for us to get out.

depends on why the greenbelt was created by and large.

let me know what general area you are at and I'm sure one can find it fairly easily, or just get in contact with the zoning board at the city and i'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

Not sure the history of the greenbelt space...we've been in our home 9 years and for the last 9 years has been nothing but a greenbelt behind us. Again, not sure how much truth there is to what I was told...could very well just be people starting rumors (as has happened before with many other things in the community).

10 yrs ago this was all farm land and the CLOSEST grocery store was the HEB at Tezel and Culebra. The growth in this area is hard to believe for those of us that have been here 12+ yrs...and so TOTALLY UNREAL for those here 10 yrs or less.

I (for one) thank GOD that theaters are NOT crowded at either 4am (when I go to work) or 2pm (when I come home)......so EASY for ME to enjoy and igore at whime.....but feel sorry for those with "regular" work schedules or kids to contend with the nightmare this will create...especially those who are "night owls"...

I know what you mean Paka. When we moved here in 2004, 151 wasn't even completely open all the way to 1604. And when it was finally completely open just shortly after we moved in our house, I felt it was like my secret little shortcut because there was NEVER any traffic on it. Now it's bumper to bumper it seems 24/7. I remember the nearest grocery store for me being the commissary at Lackland (or the old HEB on Marbach).

I remember 1604 on this side used to be a 2 lane country road much like it is on the southern part of 1604. And pretty much nothing existed on Potranco except a couple gas stations and a few entrances to subdivisions.

I've lived in Westcreek since Aug 1989. There was a Diamond Shamrock on Potranco and an old gas station/icehouse (Dan's?) on 1604/Culebra and Taft HS. Much has changed in that time and I've welcomed it.

I never thought they would rly build like they did in the Groesenbacher area. That two, narrow lanes action looks like a nightmare
