I've done time at Kelly, Lackland, and Randolph... back to the days when SARPMA did maintenance. As much as everybody bitched about them, it was way better than it is with 'Joint Base San Antonio'. Simple maintenance items like a broken toilet takes months to fix, and that's after the couple weeks it takes to even get somebody out to look at in the first place.

Some two star general was relieved of his command quite suddenly this week, stating a “loss of confidence”. It’s being speculated that it is about this issue and the press it has caused.

Looks like the Lackland Air Base Wing has had a succession of administrative officers without any command experience.

I can tell you for a fact that all of that mold was preventable by a few simple practices. When I was at Eglin we had dorm inspections that included checking on mold. Keys to success were 1) take shorter showers. This isn't Hollywood. 2) If you see mold, use bleach asap. Keep your clothes clean and do your laundry.

Mold in dorm rooms is easy to control if our Airmen do their part. It doesn't take magic. It takes bleach and elbow grease.

Actually it was a 3-star Army general. His being relieved of duty doesn’t appear to be related to the duties he had as Commanding General, Installation Management Command. He’d only been in the position since last September. As for speculation there’s actually been very little on the post.

With all the recent sensationalism with prominent civilians and military leaders the Army is being very close hold with any hint of information coming out of the supposed ongoing investigation. That’s the way it should be.

Is there an ongoing investigation? Thought firing the Lt. General was the end.
