Maybe she was suffering and he couldn't stand to see that... pure speculation on my part.

But hopefully this doesn't mean entering a hospital will now be like entering an airport gate area or court house.

I doubt it. Hospitals don't really seem like a common place for shootings as much as other places.

I had been talking to my friend who is working in Japan and he was saying this is one of the biggest fears among the Japanese after the Abe shooting. Losing that freedom of entering buildings, trains, etc without security checks as it has been for so long. But again...they haven't been desensitized to gun violence like Americans are.

Never a good idea to set policy as a reaction to news. This was an assisted suicide so the method used is meaningless. My sympathies to the family.
