And who is saying that? Because surely isn't me. Or on this forum.

^^ Sometimes old threads are Closed or Locked down thus preventing any new replies. Haven't seen it happen much in this forum though.

Default New,

Why but of course let them go for petty theft, let them get enough citations and these activities eventually will catch up with them.
Hear about the convenience store clerk in Detroit whom, in order to prevent a petty theft locked the front door from behind the counter and the bullet proof glass? The lunatic shoplifter shot and killed customers inside the store. Fast forward one week later; guess who is facing either murder or manslaughter charges? The convenience store clerk is. He'd no right to lock everyone inside the store. Over a four dollar theft? The shooter fled the scene.
It was stupid and the clerk realizes it now.

What about "cite and release" for theft? Have you really looked into ALL aspects of the proposed changes? I can't imagine retailers are going to be very happy dealing with repeat shoplifters that know they're just going to get a citation....

Right.
If by me, then very seldom. Only when a very specific question was asked and answered, the thread was dormant for a while and started to attract spammers. Or went totally off topic, most likely general politics. Or started by a troll.

San Antonio is more about the historical than the new and shiny. That's all. San Antonio downtown has a nice vibe to it. I was just down there for the weekend. More fun as a whole than Austin for people to visit. If someone I know is going to Austin and thought it was cool, I always tell them to visit San Antonio too.
Actually it was my Ear, nose and wallet specialist I had this conversation with. Know what he replied"
"I know, that is what everyone tells me about my recent convention-vacation. You should have gone to San Antonio."

Sorta, kinda, but not really.

A lot of people in this city just don't want anything to change, even if it's falling apart or was a piece of crap to begin with. They resist it with every fiber of their being because change and progress scare them.

That is slowly changing as the old guard dies out and, thankfully, some of the younger ones are sticking around versus leaving (as most of the smart/driven/successful ones used to do).
