If I had to go to the amount of effort my dogs do just to sit down I would only weight 50 pounds!

Sorry about that. What precautions did you take?

so some garages actually get below freezing? Mine was nippy this morning, but still well above freezing. and the pipes are all near the wall that touches the house, so I'm sure that area is a little warmer than others and there's a water heater sitting underneath them.

I bet I'm the only person on the planet who is driving around with a nail in every tire. Sheesh how does that happen and why does Discount Tire close at 5 on Saturday and NOT OPEN ON SUNDAY???

that does take quite a bit of skill to get a nail in each tire. You visit a nail factory this weekend or something? At least you didn't pull them out, though. I did that once in San Diego and could've hit myself when I realized what I just did. duh

I guess I picked them up near where I work.....there is a lot of construction going on. Only one is leaking slowly, but by the time I made it to DT yesterday they were closed. So.....since the only tire shop still open on a Saturday evening was at Wallyworld....that's where I ended up. Well, the kid went out and looked at my (nearly brand-new) tire and told me it couldn't be repaired. Well, what the hell do I know? I'm not the professional, he is. So, I set it up to get a new tire put on while I grabbed some groceries. You can't hear ANYTHING in that store--apparently they were paging me, but by the time I got back to get my car the actual repair guy comes out and says he can fix it--as in "lady, what the hell are you thinking??? the tire is practically brand new!" Well, I could have beat that kid up but I was nice...that's when he tells me I have a nail in all 4 and he can fix them all for me. The Cowboys had just started playing so I told him to just put the tire back on, air it up and I'd be back today.

I still wish DT was open. I just won't have ANY time this week to get it done so today I have the Mart de Wall as my only choice.

unless it's in the sidewall (nearly impossible for a nail) there aren't many nail in the tires that can't be repaired. I'm sure the kid was well trained, though.. probably looked it up on wikipedia

His exact quote after I asked him if it could be repaired was "no, it's prolly all tore up inside." I just went with it.

Maybe he just wanted a quick way to watch the Cowboys. Probably faster to put new tires on and send you off on your way.
