Most people like that are all talk and have a worse bark than a bite. But I do agree, it's not worth getting into something that might get you landed in the pokey for beating the taste out of his mouth.

I sure am glad all summer it was under 100 and now that it is about time to return to school we have 100plus forecasts.

I was out at the lake house this weekend and it was around 102 degrees there yesterday. Completely miserable except for swim time. Too hot to fish or do much else and even at 10 pm it was around 88 - 90 degrees.

Still beats what we had last year. I was actually glad to come back home where it is slightly cooler.

At least you had water to swim in this year.

This time of the year is perfect for a cabin/house that has a breezeway (also known as "dog trot" cabins in the hill country). Air swirls around and enters/exits the breezeway, creating a sort of "venturi" effect common in engine carburetors (high/low pressure air swirling around).

Sat on the porch today at a park that had a dog trot cabin. Man, what a world of a difference...feels like an A/C unit, except, this one is mother nature doing the coolin'.

Nice picture. Which park is it?

We are on a constant level lake so it only loses maybe a foot depth during severe drought.

I just wish we could have a little more rain... maybe we'll get lucky in the next few weeks. Just to keep things green.

Default 4 Year Old Reader

My grandson loves to read and be read to. Does anyone know a monthly subscription that sends an age appropriate magazine that I can give him as a present?
