I do remember the bird.

I do believe it was a Mynah Bird. (the bird was a master of the Wolf Whistle)

That would have been the early/mid 1960s.

The bird had a large cage
that was in the same area where Duncan had the YoYo Contest.

Duncan may have had Top Spinning Contests there as well. don't recall....

Anyone remember Inki and the Mynah Bird???

I think Boss rider and Bud B were both from that area. I spent a lot of time over there too. Went to McCreless a lot over the years. If you are speaking of 50's era it was a different world then.

Yep. I lived in Highland Park area. In reference to sending a bill, when I worked at the Sinclair station across from the original McCreless, we had a number of people who filled up "on the cuff" and paid at the end of the month. One of my jobs was to go around the area and personally deliver the bills to the customers. No one complained, everybody paid. Never happen now, though.

That probably was Charlo's Sinclair, I'm presuming. He moved to the corner of New Branfels and Fair and changed to Phillips 66. Cool Million, which is now called, The Other Woman, is where the Sinclair used to be(if my memory serves me right). There was also a Phillips 66 at Clark and Fair, owned and run by an old, nice guy everyone called, "Sarge". I think he originally worked for Charlo.

Check out the previous location of the San Pedro Outdoor Theater in the 1955 aerial photo. It was located on the East side of San Pedro, between Sprucewood & Rampart.
