Montabalo's in Baton Rouge. Excellent seafood. I wish that Sea Island chefs could learn how to cook like Signor Montabalo

Rudy's BBQ - the original location.
Ordered a pound of brisket and a link of sausage. Creamed corn, beans, and potato salad for sides.

I know it's a chain now but I've always loved Rudy's.

Taqueria Poblano (3950 S. Zarzamora). Mole chicken enchiladas were outstanding and my friend got the mini taquitos, which made me wish I could be a pig for a minute.. Amazingly, the food was not greasy at all and the portions were something a normal person should eat. Definitely two things you rarely find at a taqueria, but this one was different. I'm guessing they don't get too many blonds there, though, because we were kinda stared at the entire time we were there. And, yes, I know it wasn't the color of our hair...

Cafe Aroma - based on recommendations in the openings thread.

Very, very nice. Friendly - homey and had the aubergine and egg sandwich with a glass of green tea.

Great sandwich. Hope they succeed and expand.
