There are some awesome areas up 10 in the hill country, but if you're looking for 2-3 acres, price will become a factor. How much are you looking to spend?

Look at a map and see what roads head west from UTHS. Bandera Road can be well... quite busy once you hit close to 1604. But I is a lovely drive. Medina has great curving roads but can be dangerous. Where ever you end up look out for Low water crossing and the flood areas. Many a horse farm has been flooded out and horses lost.

Anything from Helotes west on Bandera Road (Rt 16) is pretty hilly...and not too bad of a drive if you don't go out too far...

If you don't mind the commute a bit, the Startzville area near Canyon Lake is a great area and has everything you're looking for. You guys should check it out.

I think the key word in the title is "commutable".
